RIP Jean Beliveau a.k.a Le Gros Bill

Tonight, the city of Montreal is in mourning and so I am.

Earlier today, we lost an icon, a gentleman and probably the classiest man to have ever played in the NHL.

Jean B

When I was a kid, I often heard my pops talking about the several charities they were involved with together and I still remember my dad’s face lighting up when talking about Jean Beliveau.

My dad was not one to give out faux praise, so you knew when he did; it was for real. Jean Beliveau was one of rare ones those Dad praised.

I have always been in awe of him and every time I have seen him, he always had a kind word and always took the time to chat with me; the last time was a couple of years ago at the Bell Center.

From what I am reading & hearing today, he was like that with everyone and that is why the city of Montreal is in mourning tonight.

My dad and him were a lot of alike: classy, humble & unpretentious. So today, I feel like I lost another father and I am definitely not alone in feeling that way.

Thank you Mr. Beliveau for being you and thanks for all that you did for the city of Montreal.

The sky above Montreal is a little less bright tonight as it is missing it’s biggest & brightest star. RIP Jean Beliveau

This is one of my biggest fears when travelling by train.

I’m glad it ended well.

Nice to see a nice news story for a change.

RIP John Pinette (1964-2014)

Over the weekend, one of my favorite comedians passed away. To me, he was one of those rare comedians that made me laugh no matter what topic he was discussing.

He is also a staple at the Just for Laughs festival held here in Montreal each summer.

An Ode to John
You made me laugh
You made me cry
Most importantly, you always made me forget my problems for a while

Daily Prompt: New

Hi all,

the prompt can be found here: new.

New bus shelters for STM users. These are very cool and can be dangerous for missing the bus while you fart around on the interactive screen. Nice initiative by the STM.
